I Like to Be Me

Being a parent to two very observant girls I kept coming up against a need to explain how wishing to be like others, or have what other people have, can be a trap and will not make you happy.

I wanted to show my girls that being yourself and being happy with yourself was really important. It would make them feel lighter and enjoy life more. I set about writing the film and with the help of a dear friend, Natala Stuetz, created ‘Ruby Who?’

After the international success of the short film, we decided to develop supporting materials, in consultation with childcare workers and teachers, that would assist other parents and teachers who are trying to discuss the same topics with kids in their care.

Music for the film was written and performed by the very talented Aaron Nebauer of Vivid Music Studios. Please check his website to hear more of his fantastic compositions.
